Job Description:
The Valley School (Middletown) is looking for a qualified, energetic, enthusiastic, nurturing Early Preschool Co-Teacher (children ages 24 months-36 months).
The Early Preschool Co-Teacher is responsible for general classroom management and supervision, which includes personal care (diaper changes/potty training), and supervision of the children.
The right candidate will be an intricate part of the daily planning and implementation of activities for children that meet their physical, social, and emotional growth needs.
Pay is competitive, based on qualifications, experience and education.
Essential Duties:
Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.
) to teach children Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum.
Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Track children's progress and report to parents Communicate with parents and the co-teacher regularly to understand the children's background and psyche Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Requirements:
1 year of previous documented childcare experience High School Diploma AND 90 clock hours of Early Childhood Education Coursework OR 6 semester hours OR hold a CDA issued by the Child Development Associate National Credential Program.
