Recent grads and experienced DVMs are encouraged to apply! Duties - Diagnose and treat various illnesses and injuries in animals - Perform surgeries, including spaying and neutering and common soft tissue small animal procedures.
- Conduct regular wellness exams and vaccinations - Provide emergency care to animals in critical condition - Educate pet owners on proper animal care and preventive measures - Collaborate with veterinary technicians and assistants to provide comprehensive care - Maintain accurate medical records for all patients - Stay up-to-date with advancements in veterinary medicine and attend continuing education seminars Requirements - Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school - Valid state license to practice veterinary medicine - Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and diseases - Experience in performing surgeries and other medical procedures on animals.
Mentorship and training available for recent graduates.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and staff members - Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions in emergency cases - Proficiency in using veterinary software for medical recordkeeping Skills:
- General small animal (primarily canine and feline) preventative, urgent, dental, surgical and wellness care.
Pocket pet (lagomorphs, rodents, small exotic non-primate mammals) experience preferred but not required for clinical duties.
- Animal husbandry:
Understanding of animal breeding, reproduction, and overall health management.
- Team Leadership:
Ability to lead a team of veterinary professionals during daily clinical duties.
- Ability to enjoy caring for pets and prioritize strengthening the human animal bond through quality medical care.
- Veterinary critical care:
Expertise in providing intensive care to critically ill or injured animals.
- Dog handling:
Skill in safely restraining and handling dogs during examinations or treatments.
- Laboratory:
Proficiency in conducting diagnostic tests and interpreting laboratory results.
